Independent federation of 7 emirates (imara (t)), making what used to be seven countries as one. The Day of independence: December 2, 1971 (from Britain). Inhabitants: 4.7 million (2005 estimate). On the other hand, UAE nationals are about 20% of the total number of inhabitants, the other 80% are from different countries of the world.

In the eyes of an observer, one can say that the UAE is a major part of the region where the Flood of Noah took place, which covered the GCC also Iraq, and the Southern part of Iran. As we head west, we also notice how the Flood covered many countries of the North African Regions, therefore, when at the UAE you are at a significant Biblical part of human history. Some date the history of the UAE as far back as 3000 years before Christ, but if one speaks about the Flood of Noah, then obviously this will take us thousands of years into the past.

Al Ain City Tour

Al Ain City Tour

Located 140 kilometers from Dubai at the foot of the mountains, also the border lines of Oman, the historical city of Al Ain is known for its modern charms mixed with the lush of Green in the heart of the Desert, green beautiful public parks, decorated Round About/Squares, gardens and wide boulevards. Also known as the 'Garden City', Al Ain (literary stands for: “The Eye”) is one of the most important agricultural centers & archaeological sites of the Emirates as well as a university town, where the UAE actually is planting and producing a lot of the Vegetables for the local market. Al Ain is a part of the Emirate/state of Abu Dhabi. And it is Abu Dhabi’s main resort.

Jabel Hafit - Close to Al Ain, is this craggy mountain rising steeply from the surrounding desert. An area noted for its flora and fauna (it is one of the last remaining habitats of the rare Arabian tahr), the mountain can be accessed by excellent roads which wind its way right up to the summit, providing a panoramic view of the Empty Quarter, which used to be the most difficult part of Arabia for traveling, because of its vastness and emptiness. Also of an interest are the numerous caves, sites of archaeological excavations, and Ain Al Fayda, a top health resort located over a natural hot spring.

At the foot of Jebel Hafeet are hot springs. The area has been turned green with picnic spots. The Springs are diverted along shallow channels- ideal for bathing the feet in steaming therapeutic/Healing waters. When Water was discovered in this Area, the UAE started investing in it to bring it to its look today. The Hot Springs sits in an Oases like area, with Green Grass. (see picture below).

The Forts/Al Ain Museum

The Forts/Al Ain Museum - Location within the confines of Al Jahili fort, the nation's largest museum is divided into ethnological and historical sections. Interesting displays include Bedouin artifacts, archaeological excavations of 2700 BC, 500 BC stone instruments and relics dug up from Fossil Valley.

Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium

Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium - The 1969 zoo houses an extremely large and varied collection of wildlife from all over the world. The zoo is also well known for its display of Arabia's indigenous wildlife which includes the spectacular Arabian Oryx. The Zoo also has a beautiful Aquarium. Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium opened in 1969 and has since expanded into one of the largest collections of both common and rare animals. Arabian antelope and deer comprise a large area of the zoo. A variety of African antelope, such as oryx , eland , gazzelle and lechwe can be found in the tree shaded paddocks which offer excellent breeding conditions.

Qattarah Oasis - This small, beautiful sylvan oasis studded with date palms and fruit orchards and located on the edge of Al Ain is noted for its archaeological sites. Some of the ancient relics found here, including beautiful Gold jewelry, have been displayed today in the Al Ain museum.
