
The
9-hole, par 36, championship standard Resort Course is situated
within the idyllic grounds of the Resort. Designed by Peter
Harradine and opened in 1998, the Resort Course has hosted
the world’s best players as part of the official curtain
raiser to the European PGA Tour event, the Dubai Desert Classic.
Each
hole is uniquely landscaped with exotic trees, shrubs and
original desert flora and the course also features a saltwater
lake which comes into play on five holes. The wooden gazebos,
views of the Arabian Gulf and peacocks which freely roam the
fairways have added a special charm to this course that is
a fair and exciting challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Standard
of Play
The Resort is available to players of the following standard:
• Holder of an official handicap certificate (max 28
for men, 45 for ladies)
• Holder of a current playing certificate or a very
experienced non-handicap player
• Beginners and non-golfers are not permitted to play
on the Resort Course but are welcome to use the practice facilities
or take golf lessons.
Speed
of Play
Players are requested to play at a speed that ensures enjoyment
for all other course players. To facilitate the flow of play
during busy periods, players will be requested to make up
into four-ball tee time groups.
Golf
Carts
Players may ride or walk the course. Electric carts and pull
trolleys are available for hire.
Equipment
Quality sets of men’s, ladies’ and junior clubs
may be hired for the range or course. Bag Storage is available
– clubs are cleaned and safely stored overnight, on
request.
Attire
Appropriate golf attire is required for all players at all
times. Spikeless or soft spike shoes must be worn.
Pro Shop
High quality merchandise from some of the leading suppliers
of golf, leisure and sportswear are available together with
branded gifts and mementos.
Tee-times
From October to April the Resort Course is open from 7am until
nightfall, and from May to September, from 6.30am until nightfall.
Players are requested to book in advance and at the time of
booking, to provide information on handicap, whether playing
9 or 18 holes, preferred tee-times and contact information.
