and Climate in Cook Islands Cook Islands Climate: The climate in the Cook Islands is equable. The rainy season is between November and March, but the rain usually falls in the form of late afternoon storms which cool the air temperature, which averages around 82ºF (28ºC) this time of year. The cooler, dry season, when temperatures range from 70ºF to 80ºF (20ºC to 26ºC), runs from April to October. Severe weather is seldom experienced. Cook Islands has two distinct seasons. The cooler season, from April to October, is dry and averages 20-26ºC, with cool nights. The warmer season is from November to March, when temperatures rise to 22-28ºC. Although this is the rainy hurricane season, mornings are usually sunny, with storm clouds building up in the afternoon and the rain falling in a late afternoon storm that leaves the air refreshed. The Islands are out of the usual cyclone path, and major cyclones usually only happen once every twenty years.
