HOTEL DESCRIPTION
Castaway
island is a first class private island resort, situated amongst
the crystal clear waters in the famous Mamanuca Islands. Easy access
just 30 kms from Fiji’s International airport. From the moment
you set foot on her sandy shores you sense the difference, for Castaway
isn’t just an island, it’s people. The warmest, friendliest
bunch of Fijians, you’re ever likely to meet anywhere.
The
resort consists of 66 individual thatched bures with facilities
ideally suited to the tropical climate and barefoot nature of the
island together with starlit, open air dining, casual bars including
our wood fired gourmet pizzas, spectacular sunsets, romantic evenings
and fun-filled days, you will experience the wonders of this paradise.
Absorb the beauty by day. Dine al fresco under the stars at night
or try your hand at game fishing or scuba diving with our award
winning Padi Gold Palm dive facility.

ROOM FEATURES
There
are sixty six spacious thatched traditional Fijian style bures
(bungalows). Whether your choice is beach front, oceanview
or island setting, all bures feature one queen size ensemble
and two single beds. They comfortably sleep four persons.
Each
bure features traditional Fijian design high roofs and ceiling
mounted fans. Sleeping and living quarters are separate with
the emphasis being on privacy and comfort. A well stocked
drinks refrigerator is provided.
Your
bure has a separate large ensuite bathroom including separate
shower, toilet and vanity area complete with hairdryer and
toiletries. Castaway has an abundance of fresh clean water.

HOTEL FACILITIES & AMENITIES
Windsurf, paddleboard, sail a catamaran around the lagoon.
View the living coral reef by snorkeling or through a glass
bottomed boat, all with our compliments. Award winning P.A.D.I.
dive facilities and training, jetskiing, parasailing, waterskiing,
handline and game fishing and island hopping on Fiji's fastest
speedboat are offered in addition to our complimentary activities.
Your
day starts with a Castaway buffet breakfast including Fiji's
tropical fruits and juices, cereals, a selection of hot dishes
and accompaniments including bacon, sausages, eggs any style,
fresh baked croissants, hot cakes and danish pastries, tea
selection and fresh brewed coffee. Our all day casual dining
menu features light snacks and meals throughout the day to
early evening.
At night we dine alfresco under a canopy of Castaway stars
overlooking the clear waters. The a la carte menu features
the freshest Fijian seafood and crustacea with grain fed beef,
poultry and local Fijian creations as selections, together
with fresh vegetables, crisp salads and crusty home baked
breads - complimented by a hand selected wine list.
Alternatively
our gourmet wood fired pizzas available in the Sundowner Bar
are not to be missed. Magnificent starlit dining by the water's
edge is enhanced by the music and songs of the "Castaway
Islanders" with their acoustic guitars and island style
bass. You'll find its the perfect setting for our Castaway
Island cuisine. In fact, our alfresco dining was recently
deemed "excellent" by Conde Nast Traveller.
We provide a complimentary service for all children 3 years
of age and over from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00
pm, with a separate, supervised children's dinner hour from
5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The Fijians' love of children is legendary
and you can be assured your children will be well cared for
by your Castaway family. The kids will enjoy a mixture of games and experience a definite
Fiji flavour - loads of fun and entertaiment. |
