HOTEL DESCRIPTION
Maravu
is the perfect hideaway for you offering adventure and relaxation,
culture and the unique experience to live with the people who have
been here since ancient times. Their laughter and happiness will
become part of your life after you left and will make you want to
return.
Paradise is waiting to comfort you may it be finest dining with
Fiji's best and biggest wine list, world class diving in the Somosomo
Strait, tropical beaches with huge rain trees and palm trees swaying
in the breeze, spectacular waterfalls, or the famous volcano lake.
Maravu's magic will capture you first when you enter the main building
with its open walls and thatched roof decorated with Fijian art
like carved bowls, masks, pottery, driftwood and painted tapa pictures.
A maximum of 30 guests will give your stay a very personal note.
Lush tropical gardens hide your private bure.
Indulge yourself listening to the birds singing and the beautiful
Fijian language, refresh your senses by smelling the fresh and totally
clean air, taste the pureness of food right from the sea and the

ROOM FEATURES
Each
bure is well-appointed, and beautifully decorated with Fijian
artwork and paintings. And, wherever you look, flowers are
spread out in their full bloom, liberally adorning your tropical
home. The bures are spaced apart on our 56 acre resort, so
feel the privacy around you as you relax in the hammock on
the verandah. And, lest you forget time, the gentle beat of
the lali drum will remind you when delicious meals are ready
for you to enjoy.
Our Planters Bures are six Bures in three Duplex Units. The
rooms are completely separate with own entrance, verandah,
bathroom and just one joining wall. The Duplex units have
an interconnecting facility, which is ideal for a family with
children having their own room. The maximum occupancy for
each Bure is 3 adults or 2 adults with two children under
12 years. Garden view. Distance to the private Maravu Beach
is 5 walking minutes.
Another five of our Bures are both, Deluxe Bure or Honeymoon
Bures depending on the inquiry! Each Bure has a large private
outdoor shower and open sundeck. This Bure type has both,
an inside and an outside shower and in addition to the sundeck
a covered verandah. The outdoor furniture consists of Mahogany
pool beds, chairs and tables. The maximum occupancy for this
Bure is 3 adults or 2 adults with two children under 12 years.
All 5 Bures have Ocean-view. Distance to the private Maravu
Beach is 3 walking minutes.
Our
top Bures are the Honeymoon Deluxe Suites
Four Suites with two rooms each, one sitting/lounging room
and one sleeping room. The private open-air courtyard contains
an outside shower, a sundeck and a spacious Jacuzzi Pool with
waterfall. The verandah consists of a covered terrace and
a large open sundeck. The outdoor furniture features Mahogany
pool beds, chairs and tables. All Suites have air-conditioning.
The maximum occupancy for this Bure is 2 adults. The rate
for this category includes the Honeymoon Package: a bottle
of champagne, fruit basket, Sulus (Fijian skirts), poolside/garden
candlelight dinner, excursion to Honeymoon Island and a halfday
trip to romantic Bouma Waterfalls. Bure # 1, 2 and 3 have
partial Ocean-view and Bure # 15 has Garden-view. Bure # 15
has in addition to the outside shower an inside shower and
a separate toilet. Distance to the private Maravu Beach is
4 walking minutes. |

Have a candle light dinner ...
... with other guests laughing and conversing in the quiet
open restaurant, or choose a spot by the pool, on the beach
or in the garden to have a private moment with one another
under the stars of the Southern skies. And look for the famous
'Southern Cross' formation which has guided travellers in
times gone by.
Relish in the fact that there is no phone or TV in your bure!
We are happy to offer email, fax or telephone service at the
Resort office, should you require, of course. In the library
you will find a good selection of books about Fijian culture,
fish identification books, local Fijian medicine, flowers
and bird life. Select your favourite piece of carved artwork
in the boutique or some elegant Resort wear.
Each evening, enjoy the enchanting harmony of the Maravu Serenades
as they play Fijian songs. Every week we have a Fijian meke,
and lovo feast, so that you may enjoy watching traditional
dances and taste delicious food which is cooked 'Fijian style'
in an underground oven. Try some Kava, the traditional Fijian
drink made out of a pepper root plant. Also enjoy our special
Indian curry night ... almost half of Fiji's population are
Indian.
Maravu offers great meals for children, and your little ones
can have dinner earlier than the adults. There is also a full-time
babysitting service available. Fijians have a natural way
with children and make wonderful, caring babysitters. We cater
for any diet requests and the Resort has its own organic vegetable
and herb garden. There are also banana trees, papaya, pineapples
and other exotic fruits which grow throughout the 56-acre
plantation. |
