HOTEL DESCRIPTION
The Traders' Ridge Resort is a timeless example of the adaptive reuse of two historic buildings. The Hotel itself was originally a Seabee inn constructed after WWII. The entire facility was re-birthed to bring visitors closer to the Ethnic Art Institute of Micronesia.
They have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, mini bar, TV/VCR, IDD telephone, hardwood floors and French doors that open onto a patio or veranda. All of their rooms have the same basic floor plan and differ by location. They have 6 Patio rooms that open onto a private patio surrounded by a garden and hedge.
Their 6 Veranda Ridge rooms overlooking the quiet lane on which the Resort is located along with a tropical view. The 8 Veranda Ocean rooms are located on the first and second floors overlooking the swimming pool with breathtaking views of Chamarro Bay and the ocean.
THE VERANDA VIEWRESTAURANT
Offers fine dining with an island flare with soft lighting and lazy ceiling fans stirring the richly scented tropical air as their chefs create your favorite gourmet delights. Try their Mangrove Crab Cakes or Sweet Potato and Wild Mushroom Ravioli finished with a local Pumpkin Crème Brule. Their fresh seafood makes dining a healthy delight.
POOLSIDE CAFE AND BAR
Casual and fun, enjoy the only fish tacos on Yap, an antipasto with imported cheeses, grilled vegetables, proscuitto ham and crusty French bread, or just a great Hamburger. Compliments your food desires with their fully stocked bar and specialty drinks, including their cultural libations featuring a hand crafted betel nut martini made table-side.
GARDEN AND POOL
Lush gardens surround the Resort creating a perfect tropical setting and cool off in Yap's very first freshwater swimming pool. Our Victorian garden surrounding the main veranda is a perfect setting for a wedding or reception.
The resort offers Yap's only personal PADI Intro to SCUBA courses taught in the resort's pool. After completing this course their experienced dive masters will guide you to the Valley of the Mantas' for the experience of a lifetime. They also offer Water Aerobics classes to tan up while you tone up.
SPA
Nestled in the corner of a taro patch and shaded by the lush tropical foliage. Private and tranquil, experience the tradition of healing through massage techniques. They have brought western massage theory and blended it with traditional techniques found only on Yap and its outer islands.
