The MacKenzie Country Inn is the Grand Hotel in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and Mackenzie Country region.

ROOM FEATURES
The MacKenzie Country Inn offers guests full facilities in all of the 108 rooms that are available. These comprise of 80 standard rooms and 28 deluxe rooms, all of which are accommodated in the main, rustic hotel building and feature their own private balcony opening out to the expansive hotel property to the mountain views beyond.
All guest rooms are comfortably furnished and equipped for your convenience with irons, ironing boards, hairdryers, tea and coffee facilities, electric blankets, heating and satellite television. All rooms come with baths for you to relax and unwind.
Standard Rooms
Our standard rooms are warm, comfortable and spacious with either two double beds, one double and one single bed or triple single bed configurations available.
There are two arm chairs to relax and unwind in, a desk to work at, radio, baths, and tea and coffee making facilities. You have your own private en suite featuring a shower over your bath, hair dryer and iron and ironing board to keep your dinner shirt looking crisp.
For a breath of fresh air and to enjoy the beautiful view, all rooms have their own balconies looking over our spacious grounds to the sweeping MacKenzie landscape beyond. For your convenience, interconnecting rooms are available if required.
Deluxe Rooms
Our Deluxe rooms are warm, spacious and tastefully decorated to ensure the most comfortable of stays. All feature two executive double beds, a desk to write at, coffee table and two arm chairs to put your feet up in after an enjoyable days outings. Enjoy a fresh cup of tea or coffee from your in room facilities.
An iron, ironing board and hairdryer will ensure you keep looking your best. Enjoy a relaxing shower or soak in the tub in your en suite. All deluxe rooms are non-smoking for your comfort and consideration.
Two of our Deluxe rooms are especially equipped with easy access and modified bathrooms to accommodate for the mobility impaired.

Explore the countryside and follow the turquoise coloured Hydro canals from the freedom of two wheels on a bicycle built for you - available for hire from reception. We have plenty of bikes for the whole family to use.

Couldn’t squeeze your clubs in your hand luggage? We have golf clubs available for you to hire so you can stroll across the road from the hotel to the Ben Ohau Golf Course to enjoy a round on a quiet and magically scenic course. Or swing away at the driving range to improve your stroke or just for a bit of tee tapping fun.

The central location of MacKenzie Country Inn means it is conveniently located only 3 hours driving time from Christchurch and 2 hours from Queenstown. Twizel is only 53km from the tranquil shores of picturesque Lake Tekapo, 63km from the stunning Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, and 45 minutes drive to the snowy slopes of Ohau Ski Field. It is just a few minutes from the international rowing course and Formula One class boating arena of Lake Ruataniwha and is close to the rare Kaki/Black Stilt breeding centre.
