It is built of local materials by local craftsmen and was planned to harmonize with its natural surroundings and offer guests the true flavor of Samoa. | ROOM FEATURES |
ACCOMMODATION: All the rooms are in the Samoan style with tiled bath/shower, air conditioning, ceiling fans and coffee/tea-making facilities and mini fridges. Coconuts offers three types of individual fales: the only Over-the-Water fales in Samoa, beach fales and a beach villa. Included complimentary in the mini bar are beer, wine, soda and bottled water and it is restocked daily. Snorkeling equipment is also complimentary.
Over-the-Water Fales
Situated directly over the water with fantastic panoramic views, these one bedroom bungalows feature a king size bed, sitting area, private bathroom facilities with over-sized bathtub and separate shower and a large outside deck. Finishing touches include thatched roofs, island decor and a glass bottom area to view the sea life. These fales are unique in Samoa and are absolutely sensational.
Beach Fales
Located directly on the beach, these are one or two bedroom fales both featuring a split-level design and a separate sitting room. Unique "open air" bathrooms have lava-rock walls, tile floors and a sunken bath/shower nestled under a lava-rock waterfall. The one bedroom fale offers a king size bed; the two bedroom a king size bed in one room and two twin beds in the other. Finishing touches include thatched roofs, bamboo trim work and island decor.

Beach Villa
Located directly on the beach, this is the most spacious accommodation available at Coconuts. The villa features two bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious sitting room, sleeping den and a private terrace facing the sea. The master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds and ensuite bathroom. The villa sleeps six people and is perfect for families or couples traveling together.
Hotel Suites and Rooms
Coconuts offers both garden suites and ocean view "treehouse" rooms, all quite spacious with coffee/tea making facilities, mini-refrigerator, private bathroom facilities, air-conditioning and ceiling fans. These rooms include complimentary use of snorkeling equipment during the guest's stay. |
Garden Suites
Each spacious garden suite is comprised of a full size bedroom with a king size bed and a full size sitting room with sleeping facilities to accommodate one or two additional adults. Each bedroom and sitting room has its own ensuite, open-air bathroom (two full bathrooms), featuring a sunken tub with lava rock "waterfall" shower. These suites each have their own individual covered terrace area and extensive use of beautiful slate floors, teak and bamboo furniture and local materials throughout the rooms, creates a distinctive, Polynesian atmosphere. Although these are called "Garden suites", many of them also have ocean views.

| HOTEL FACILITIES AND AMENITIES |
RESTAURANT & BAR: Their unique restaurant, situated at water's edge, is under the supervision of famed Honolulu restaurateur Mike "Mika" Pirics - former owner of the "Bistro" and "L'Escargot" restaurants in Hawaii. Enjoy dining in their authentic Samoan fale by the sea or dine "al fresco" under the stars on the Palm Terrace, or enjoy elegant, candle light dining in their "Bamboo Terrace" dining room. Their reasonable prices and excellent cuisine meet the needs of visitors on a budget as well as up-market travelers. Their menu is extremely varied and ranges from simple sandwiches to gourmet meals. Their specialty is seafood including fresh fish, lobster, crab and shrimp brought to the resort daily by the fishermen of Siumu, the adjacent village. The wine list includes a variety of California and European wines. A meal plan is available that includes three meals per day and unlimited glasses of beer, house wine or soda with lunch and dinner.

ACTIVITIES & EXCURSION: Coconuts has a gecko shaped swimming pool measuring approximately 100 feet long and features a swim up cocktail bar that proudly serves an assortment of exotic tropical drinks including "The Gecko Special". Swimming and snorkeling is available in the protected lagoon and the resort has kayaks, Samoan paopaos (outrigger canoes), snorkel gear, an assortment of other beach accessories and games and they can arrange Jungle River cruises, diving trips and fishing excursions. The island of Upolu, large by South Pacific standards is blessed with dramatic waterfalls, deep gorges, canyons, lakes, dormant volcanic craters and deserted black and white sand beaches amidst ancient Samoan villages. |
Coconuts offer a variety of private, VIP excursions with a 4 wheel drive vehicle, driver and English speaking guide to let you experience the island's hidden treasures and to welcome you to the fales (traditional Samoan houses of their seaside villages. The resort tailors these excursions to suit the individual needs of their guests and provide everything from a simple beach BBQ to gracious lobster and champagne picnics on remote, white sand beaches. |
