Hideaway Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary is a small coral atoll that's about as close as you'll get to a Robinson Crusoe island escape in the South Pacific. Power is generated around the clock on the island, water is fed from the top of the pristine Cascade waterfalls and outside of the office there are no phones or faxes.

Surrounded by clear turquoise water, coral reefs and thousands of fish, this Melanesian style resort is the custodian of one of Vanuatu's only marine sanctuaries. Coral reefs ideal for snorkeling or scuba diving right from the shore are home to thousands of 'tame' fish who are more than happy to show you around, while our experienced PADI Instructors and Divemasters will do their best to ensure you see the best of every site, whether you're a first time diver, on a course, or just out to enjoy yourself.

Accommodation on Hideaway Island has been built with a traditional Melanesian flavour, scattered amongst the jungle and tropical plants that cover the island.

The food served up in our recently renovated “On the Beach” bar and restaurant is just one thing that keeps our guests coming back here year after year. Where else can you sit with your toes in the sand overlooking beautiful coral reefs and crystal clear tropical waters while enjoying first rate food served up by a chef who’s worked around the world, but now calls Vanuatu home. A real local character, Bruce is as likely to share his humour with you as he is his food. Either is a real treat, and if you can get both, you’re bound to have a great night.

Furthermore, not only is the food we serve up a treat to look at and eat, it’s not likely to break the bank either. The food at Hideaway is of a quality and value we believe you'd find hard to better. We scour the markets and local suppliers every day, so that only the freshest of ingredients are ever included in the food. It also makes for great variety, with the blackboard menu changing daily depending on the produce available. Whether you’re after a simple burger, a slice of cake or pie, or wonderfully fresh seafood, chances are there’ll be something here to tempt your palate. And if you have any special dietary requirements or desires, just let us know and we'll be sure to accommodate you.

Constant action or complete relaxation are both options for your holiday at Hideaway Island. From sitting with your toes in the sand in our 'On the Beach' restaurant and watching the sun set over the marine sanctuary, to doing a dive course, joining our daily snorkel safari or using us as a base for a host of day tours, the options are almost endless.
